Honoring the Birthplace of the Revolution
Located in Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln Massachusetts, Minute Man National Historical Park is a historic, literary, and ecological treasure. The park protects over 1000 acres of historic battlefields, buildings, gardens, and conservation land, including the Old North Bridge (site of the shot heard round the world) and The Wayside House (home to Louisa May Alcott and later Nathaniel Hawthorne ).
I worked with the Friends of MMNP to create a versatile, modern visual identity for the organization. Throughout 2026, we’ll be rolling out the logo, integrating the brand, and creating a new website for the organization.

About the artwork
To call Daniel Chester French’s work extraordinary is an understatement, and creating a design from his sclupture was both inspiring and humbling.
The composition of the logo is based on a photograph by Joseph McKenna. In the photo, McKenna captures The Minute Man in stunning light and shadow. I worked to re-create the image by carefully layering colorblocked shapes, effectively building up features and shadows to create a final design that is both gestural and realistic.
My goal with this design was two-fold: To create a strong graphic that can hold up as a logo, of course, but also to capture Isaac Davis the man.
The silhouette of French’s statue is iconic, but I wanted to bring people in closer – to look into the face of this young man, to see the detail in his plain clothes, shirtsleeves rolled up, to feel his stance in the morning air, at the ready… A young farmer who took up arms in hope for a better future for his children. Brave and hopeful.
May we be worthy of his sacrifice – and all that came after him – as America enters her next 250 years.
